Introducing our product. The grow pro. Here's our problem. Plants have varying weather conditions. Owners can over water and underwater and they can have really busy schedules which makes watering difficult. How can we improve plant watering based on surrounding conditions for plant owners? With IO. Our solution adapts watering patterns based on humidity and temperature conditions. Here's our setup. We have a DH T sensor serial Bluetooth and Servo motor connected to an Arduino. The Serial Bluetooth sends temperature and humidity data as well as Servo motor data to the Raspberry Pi and the Raspberry Pi uses M QT T to send that data to our things. Board dashboard, we have inputs of temperature and humidity sensor data and motor data. And via Bluetooth, we send that to the Raspberry Pi which goes on our things board dashboard. The motor is also adjusted based on temperature and humidity data when the humidity is over 40% and the temperature is above 25 degrees. The water or the motor is rotated five seconds to let water flow in a drip like fashion. These conditions are checked every 15 seconds for efficiency and users can see how long their plants are watered each day and monitor the conditions on things. Board. Here's a demonstration showing how with increased temperature and humidity, the motor will move and then the dashboard on things board shows the data in real time. Here are some challenges we faced. We had to work around the one way communication between the Arduino and Raspberry Pi and update our project accordingly. We also had to decide on the conditional values for temperature and humidity so that the plant wouldn't be over or underwater. We'd want to do additional hardware to be able to transmit data from the Raspberry Pi and Arduino and make our project more efficient. We'd want to make our product more widely applicable perhaps with outdoor usage, we'd also want to add more sensors to improve watering pat patterns based on additional data. With further improvements, we want to implement security features into our network and communications to make our product more secure. We want to track additional factors like light intensity and soil quality and add two a motor control so that the user can manually turn the motor on and off from their dashboard. We also want to scale up to water multiple plants via one device as well as conduct additional data analytics to suggest changes to habits and environment. Thank you.
